I am a very young 64 year young retired physician/ surgeon.
I grew up in Knoxville Tn.
As a boy I worked on my family farms which were on what is now Fall Creek Falls State Park in Van Burren County Tn , just outside of Spencer Tn.
My family moved to Michigan when I was in 6th grade
I went to Michigan State University as an undergraduate where, among other things, I learned to sail.
I was fortunate to have a professor who had a yacht who sailed in the Port Huron to Mackinac & the Chicago to Mackinac Regatta for many years. I was a part of that crew for 15 years, many years after graduating Medical school . Many fond memories !
I have bare boat sailed most all of the Caribbean islands and from Barbados to the Grenadines.
I would ultimately like to become a "snow bird" 4- 6 months a year in the Caribbean....Central America...and or Mexico.
Initially I am looking for a companion to spend quality time with; ultimately I am looking forward to developing a life long, committed relationship with a very lovely, self-sufficient , athletic , women who enjoys travel, outdoor activities; boating, sailing, hiking, bi-cycling, fly-fishing, etc. and who also enjoys history, the arts; live theatre, and visiting historical sites .
I also very, very, much enjoy the simple life. Sitting on the front porch, quite beaches or on a sailboat on watching the sunsets.
I grew up in a very, modest family. So I’ve never forgotten how the simple life can bring much joy & pleasure. In fact, Fall Creek Falls and my family farms there on the Cumberland Plateau of Tn is my sanctuary and will always be "Home" for me. I have my grand pops restored 1950 Chevy Red pick -up Truck that he taught me to drive when I was 10 years old to go to the old country store with wooden floors to get baloney sandwiches & R.C Colas for the farm hands !!!
I had a private practice in Colorado Springs, Co for 20 years. I was one of the team physicians for the U.S.A. Olympic Training Center there. I loved living out west and that is where I developed my passion for fly fishing. Have Fly Fished many years on the Green River in Utah and many years in Alaska.
While in CSC I started a Foundation which has now raised > $1.5 M with each dollar given to causes like: The Battered Women's Center, CASA, Indigent health clinics, Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, etc. etc.
After retiring from practice there I purchased a run- down, historical, quail Plantation near Oxford Mississippi. As a third- generation bird dog trainer I took a 5 year sabbatical to restore this Plantation. In 2013 I was honored as one of the Mississippi “Conservationists" of the year for restoring the wildlife habit for the restoration of wild quail. And during that time we also had two of my English Pointer Bird Dogs inducted into the Horse Back Bird Dog Hall of Fame in Grand Junction Tn.
On the plantation we trained all of our puppies off of Horse Back on live born wild, quail.
Our family is BIG time College sports fans also. We travel and attend attended college sporting events each year.
We are also BIG time Mountain music fans. My oldest brother was a studio musician and at the Grand ole opry for several years and we still love going to the Ryman Auditorium, whenever I am back in Nashville.
In summary, I am ultimately looking for a life- long companion. Age is not a factor. A lovely, athletic, self-sufficient and committed women.
