I have been looking for someone around my age and reasonably local (meaning Southern California). With the pandemic air travel, domestic or international is out. Because of COVID 19 we cannot travel out of the country and air travel to the U.S. is restricted. I have raised my children and taken care of my parents, now I am looking for a partner.

First, some fun facts. I've been bitten by a wolf. I'm from Chicago. My brother and I got stuck in a snow storm for 5 days when I was 13. Three years later I got stuck in another snow storm in Southern California and was stuck for a week. I used to produce and broadcast a radio show on KROQ for a couple of years. I followed Frazer Smith on Saturday morning and Rodney Bingenheimer Sunday night. Most recent fun fact: July 4th, I found a baby hummingbird on the sidewalk. I thought it was dead. I bent down to take a look and I saw its eye following me. I picked it up and took it home. Fed it sugar water with a syringe and it perked right up. Now its with a vet that specializes in caring for baby hummingbirds.

Like most guys in my position, I never planned on being a full charge single parent. I've raised my twin daughters on my own for many years and their welfare has been my total focus. My primary goal has been to successfully get them through high school, prepare them for college and the rest of their life. One attended UCLA as an economic major and the other was an environmental geology major at UC Santa Cruz. I've got great children and they've been no trouble to raise. They've graduated now and one is an environmental geologist for the state of California in Berkeley. My other daughter interned at Africare in Washington, DC. and then served in the Peace Corp for 27 months in Lagdo, Cameroon, Helping prepare her for service and supporting her required all my spare time. During her service she coped with famine, viper in the living room, invasion by Boko Haram, home invasion, Ebola in the vicinity with the vector for Ebola, fruit bats, hundreds of them in her attic. I continually packed and shipped food, supplies, medicine, clothing, and other necessary gear. I had to maintain contact with Peace Corps security as my daughter was in a conflict zone and on evacuation status. Her region is now close to future volunteers. Fortunately, she made it home safely. She is working in finance in Seattle for Boeing.

After my daughter returned from Peace Corps, I assisted in care giving my parents for the next several years. Given my priorities, I haven't found time to fit in a social life. With my goal of getting them through high school accomplished and through college and into their careers and then helping my parents, I'm ready to start looking for a life partner. I have many interests and have typically spent my weekends exploring California with my daughters. We enjoy camping, hiking, day trips around Southern California, photography, museums, festivals of all kinds, dining out for various ethnic cuisines( covid-19 has put a damper on that), and cooking/baking.

Favorite trips include Maui, Europe, and exploring the deep jungles of Costa Rica. I just went to Costa Rica with my daughters. We were on a self guided two week ecotour. I'm looking for a partner with similar interests. I try to keep a balance between work and play.

Family is more important to me than earning and acquiring lots of money. In the end, you can't take it with you. I'm neither wealthy or poor, I have no debt, have retirement savings, perfect credit and have been at my present job as a clinical psychologist for 29 years. I consider myself financial secure. I'm pretty easy to get along with and prefer someone who is even tempered. My politics lean towards the liberal side and get along best with people with similar interests.
