My name is Murray. I live near Clark and Hilda and I do not drive due to a vision issue. I was separated and then became a widower, 15 years ago. I am very involved with my family. I have three grown children and seven beautiful grandchildren. I am an accountant/CPA. I semi-retired in June. Due to Covid, like everyone else, I am mostly home-based these days. Weather permitting, I try to walk and bicycle about 10 to 20 km per day, for my mental and physical health. As I now get out more in the neighborhood, I have met some new-to-me neighbours who have been in my area for many years and have found them quite interesting to talk with. I find US politics interesting and worrisome. I watch CNN and MSNBC to keep up with what is going on in the United States. I also enjoy watching some movies and TV shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime and enjoy some comedies for the most part. A good friend has described me as empathic and self-aware but not self-absorbed. You can be the judge if we meet. As to my interests, I enjoy the following: Watching some TV and movies on Netflix or Amazon Prime Following US politics and the US elections Walking and cycling A conversation over a quiet meal, at home or at restaurants (before Covid) Listening and working to understand the other person Enjoy learning to cook, lately and perhaps with your help I am considering taking a university/interest class online – Do you have any recommendations? P.S. I always clean up after myself in the kitchen My guess is that there are really no perfect matches. There are people who get along well and care for each other as a result of their basic characters. They may or may not have common interests but there is enough to want them to be involved in each other’s lives. They are adaptable to the ups and downs of changing circumstances to keep their relationship alive and healthy. At this point an ideal date is probably a walk and talk. The walk may turn into something more or not but it may be enjoyable unto itself. I am interested in romance, but I will also enjoy new friendships developing. There is no pressure here.
